A regency with Painan as the capital town, a coastal region at the southern part of the province with about 200 kms long beaches. Traveling to Painan means driving along curving roads up and down the hills, 77 kms from Padang, of course a worried experience, but natural beauty along the way such as valley with lush green forest, white sandy beaches and some islets are scattered above of the sea surely makes the travelling forget the fear.
