A Sugar Mill
Four hundred of years, the tradition of making the sugar cane has been passed down from on generation in the next, and even still exist until now. The unique one is using a buffalo driven tradmill.

The certain type of fishes are believed uneatable and would bring misfortune to disobey. Many people still do not really believed to such a thing but this is merely to preserve the habitat.

Bendi, Horse and Carriage
The traditional horse and carriage is commonly seen at most areas in West Sumatra is means of public transportation where the carriage richly decorated in the traditional carving and symbol.

Istana Pagaruyung terbakar

Subhanallah....

Istana Pagaruyung yang menjadi kebanggaan tidak hanya bagi masyarakat di Kabupaten Tanah Datar dan sekitarnya, tapi juga bagi seluruh warga Minangkabau baik yang ada di Sumbar maupun di perantauan habis terbakar pada hari Selasa, tanggal 27 Februari 2007 pada pukul 19.10 wib. Kebakaran disebabkan oleh sambaran petir yang pada waktu kejadian berlangsung sedang dilanda hujan dan angin yang cukup kencang.

Ingin menangis hati ini rasanya. Namun apa daya, semua telah terjadi. Yang tinggal kini bagaimana kita menyikapi atas musibah yang terjadi dan bagaimana kita untuk dapat melihat kembali kebanggaan masyarakat Minang tersebut untuk dapat berdiri tegak lagi.
